All I managed to fix was Steam showing that I was playing Fallout 3, still no overlay. Put the original FalloutLauncher. Steam assumes it is the original launcher and should activate the overlay and properly show time spent in game. Last edited by troylights ; 5 Jul, am. I tried that and it doesn't change anything. What happens is Steam shows I am playing Fallout 3 for second, the game goes to menu and then Steam just show status as online and no Steam overlay.
When it "goes to menu," are you referring to the settings menu that always shows at start? Did you remove the original FalloutLauncher. Are you launching the game directly from Steam as you should in this case? I moved the original FalloutLauncher. I lauch directly from Steam play button. One last thing: In the game properties, under the General tab, is the Steam overlay set to active?
Yes the checkbox is enabled. I even checked to make sure it was still working in other games. Ah, well, it was worth a try. Sorry I couldn't be of more help than that. Thanks for taking the time to try and help. I have checked everything I could find on google too and no joy.
