Hi, I've change a domain admin account name admin1 for security purpose. I need to check Scheduled tasks on servers that rely on that admin1 account Whether I need to update the password I changed for those tasks under admin1 account.

We are using Windows Server R2. I am planning to change the domain administrator password as it has not been changed for so long. I know that it will impact services and scheduled tasks and i already identified which services and scheduled tasks will be get impact.

I have a simple question that after changing the password, from where i can update the new password in scheduled tasks. In the property dialog box of the scheduled task there is only option to select the user to update.

There is no field to update the password. Thanks for your posting. To update the changed administrator password in scheduled tasks, please refer to these two methods:. Click the " Change user or Group " button and retype your service account name and click Ok. Then click Ok on the task properties and you should be prompted to enter the service account's password.

Note that you have to choose " Run whether user is logged on or not " in the Security Options section right in order to set the password. Otherwise it'll use the authentication token of the logged in user at the time the event fires.

However, this method needs you to manually create a txt file with all of the servers and another text file with all of the tasks that need to be changed. For the detailed scripts which has been proved effectively , please refer to this forum:.
