No you do not have to take a written exam on the day, only a practical assessment. No case studies are required - no written exams, certificate given on the day on completion of a successful practical assessment with your tutor. There are a certain amount of points required by the various bodies IFPA, FHT etc to ensure that members are up to date with various therapies.
For example Aromatherapists are required every 3 years to keep their training in massage up to date and will look for CPD courses to be able to do this. To be taken seriously in our industry you want to make sure you get the right training with an experienced tutor - you can never replace this with online training as practical courses should be learned safely with a tutor face to face who has the right experience and tutor insurance to teach you correctly. You learn a lot by receiving a treatment as well as learning how to give a treatment, you cannot experience how it feels or what it should feel like if you learn over zoom or by video - this is why you learn best being in a class with other students.

This course holds between 5 - 13 CPD points all professional bodies are different please check with the one you are registered with for confirmation of points they award for one day courses. This is however a standalone treatment and insurable, many students also use this with their clients who do not have cancer as it is a very effective treatment and a very popular course. You do not have to use it with cancer patients as it has many benefits, for example clients find this treatment as great way to release a build-up of toxins and much more. You can however still gain insurance with this one day course, you can use this treatment professionally and charge your clients.

In the event of a claim the insurance provider would request a copy of the client record card and the letter of consent. This information is provided to the insurer as proof that the therapist has carried out the massage treatment safely, correctly and in accordance with professional codes of practice and organisational requirements.
